HOWTO: Configure Automatic login.

This is one of those things I could just never seem to remember how to do. :oops:

This could be considered a security risk.

You simply need to append a few lines to the file called custom.conf located in the /etc/gdm/ directory.

Change to root and the edit the file

/etc/gdm/custom.conf
su -
nano /etc/gdm/custom.conf
[daemon]
TimedLoginEnable=true
TimedLogin=<your -Username>
TimedLoginDelay=10

Here are a collection of Mini-HOWTOs some of which are too short even for that grand title. I keep them around as it is easier to remember where to look these up that to remember the content of the mini-HOWTO
