HOWTO: Move my Firefox and Thunderbird profiles

I have for historically reasons always kept my profiles for Thunderbird and Firefox in a user defined directory. For this reason I need to point them at the correct directory structure when I reinstall them.

...

Copy the ~/mozilla_profiles directory to the new location.

cd  cp -r /opt/linux32_home/richard/mozilla_profiles/ .  firefox -profilemanager

Point the new profile at ~/mozillia_profiles/Firefox/Profiles/aaaaaaaaa.default/

mozilla-thunderbird -profilemanager

Point the new profile at ~/mozillia_profiles/Thunderbird/Profiles/aaaaaaaaa.default/

Here are a collection of Mini-HOWTOs some of which are too short even for that grand title. I keep them around as it is easier to remember where to look these up that to remember the content of the mini-HOWTO
